Windmills
I have driven to Palm Springs about 25 times in the last 6 years and never knew much about the windmills until now.
Increasingly popular as alternative sources of energy, wind turbine generators are a type of windmill that produces electricity by harnessing the wind. Wind turbine generators are much less harmful to the environment than burning fossil fuels, but they do require average wind speeds of at least 21 km/h (13 mph). The largest of these windmills stands 150 feet tall with blades half the legend of a football field. The compartments at the top containing the generator, hub and gearbox weigh 30,000 to 45,000 pounds. A wind turbine's cost can range upwards to $300,000 and can produce 300 kilowatts - the amount of electricity used by a typical household in a month. Almost all of the currently installed wind electric generation capacity is in California. The high-tech megatowers are engineered in cooperation with NASA and nursed by federal and state subsidies. This wind farm on the San Gorgonio Mountain Pass in the San Bernadino Mountains contains more than 4000 separate windmills and provides enough electricity to power Palm Springs and the entire Coachella Valley.

Ahh...vacation
I dont know about you, but I could sure use a vacation!! Ah...to dream. It was almost 7 years ago that my husband and I went to Bora Bora. The beauty is like nothing I have ever seen!!! The water colors were amazing. I can only describe it as, "It looks like God drew lines in the ocean and then colored each section a different shade of blue/green!!"
If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go?

Happy St. Patrick's Day
St. Patrick's Day is celebrated on March 17, his religious feast day and the anniversary of his death in the fifth century. The Irish have observed this day as a religious holiday for over a thousand years. On St. Patrick's Day, which falls during the Christian season of Lent, Irish families would traditionally attend church in the morning and celebrate in the afternoon. Lenten prohibitions against the consumption of meat were waived and people would dance, drink and feast—on the traditional meal of Irish bacon and cabbage.

Daylight Savings
If there is one thing I hate, its changing our clocks twice a year. It always takes everyone in my house a few days to get back to routine. I really wish we could stay on Daylight Savings like Hawaii or Arizona. Some benefits to DST, more time to shop, the use of energy is less, less traffic accidents, more outdoor fun with your kids or exercise. To my knowledge, DST is all about politics these days.... ever since Benjamin Franklin came up with the idea!

Bare Escentuals
Bare Escentuals RareMinerals Skin Revival Night Treatment is amazing! I have been using Bare Escentuals products for a few years and LOVE all their products. Here is what they have to say about their products:
We use only the finest quality ingredients in our products to give you everything you want without anything your skin doesn't need. Our proprietary bareMinerals formula represents the ideal mix of makeup and skincare; problem-solving cosmetics that perfect and pamper the complexion. It's makeup so pure you can sleep in it.
And because that's how we think, you'll never find anything that's not healthy, natural or good for you in our products. What's not in bareMinerals is just as important as what's in them. Less is more.
I recently discovered the RareMinerals Night Treatment. It makes my skin feel amazing in the morning. I purchase all my Bare Escentual from QVC, but you can purchase their products directly through them or Sephora. I highly recommend any of their products.

Eating mushrooms will help you stay trim and healthy. They're about 90% water, are virtually sodium-free, and are packed with potassium. All of this helps prevent puffiness and helps accentuate your muscles.

Do you know your neighbors???
How well do you know your neighbors? What about the neighbors next to your child's friends home? The babysitter's neighbors? We live in a era where knowing is half the battle. Family Watch Dog is a great tool in helping to know where offenders live. According to their site:
1 of 5 girls and 1 of 6 boys will be molested before their 18th birthday.
90% of all sexual assaults against children are committed by someone whom the victim knew.
The typical sexual predator will assault 117 times before being caught.
The re-arrest rate for convicted child molesters is 52%.
Those are scary statistics. Shouldnt we know who lives by our children? So sign up on Family Watch Dog today. They will notify you when an offender moves in or out of your neighborhood. If you live in California, you can also check out Megans Law.

Got Stains???
You need a little bit of this and and little bit of that....
Having a small child means....STAINS and lots of them. I really dont know how my daughter manages to get so dirty. Here is my solution. I fill my kitchen sink with the hotest water possible. I put in 1 cup of OxiClean and allow the clothing to soak for an hour or so. Then I take a plain bar of Dove soap and rub the bar directly into the stain. Somehow the two together are magic. I've been known to leave the clothing in the sink for a few hours. Then wash in your regular cycle. You might not want to leave dark clothing soaking for too long, you might alter the color.

Strap Perfect
I'm sure you have either seen Strap Perfect on TV or in the stores. I recently tried their product and love it. The package comes with 6 clips and invisible tape. As you can see from the photo, the clips come in 3 colors. The package retails for $9.99. Try buying it at Bed, Bath, & Beyond with your 20% off coupon to save. Think about sharing it with a friend. I dont think you really need 6 clips. I think spending $9.99 is a lot less than buying a crisscross back bra.
